Dr. Thamra Al Ghafri
Dr Thamra Al Ghafri is a senior public-health physician, clinician-researcher, and biostatistician at the Ministry of Health, Oman, with more than 25 years of leadership in health services, teaching, and translational research. Her work focuses on diabetes, with a strong emphasis on diabetic foot disease, evidence-based prevention, and health-systems strengthening across Oman and the Gulf region.
She serves as Head of Research and Innovation in the Gulf Diabetic Foot Working Group, where she promotes regional collaboration, research excellence, and innovation to improve diabetic foot care and support better outcomes for people at risk of foot complications and amputation. Her academic and professional contributions include teaching, curriculum development, supervision, and multiple publications in diabetes and public health, including recent work on diabetic foot disease in Oman and the GCC.
